Types of Shul Websites We Handle
From small updates to full custom builds.
We do three main types of website work for Shuls.
- Keeping Your Site Current. This includes changing service times, adding holiday pages, updating staff bios, posting event posters, or fixing parts of the header or footer. These are small jobs that keep your site current.
- Adding Functionality. This is for shuls that want to improve both look and function. We add forms, event seating modules, cemetery databases, Torah reading schedules, or member directories. These features are more functional and help your site do more than just share information.
- Full Custom Development. This is a full rebuild with advanced features tailored to your shul. We design every part from the ground up so it fits your workflow, your branding, and how your community uses the site. Learn more about how modern synagogue websites should be structured in our guide.

CMS and Navigation Help
upgrade or work with what you have.
Most websites we support use ShulCloud’s built-in Content Management System (CMS), and we are here to help you use it confidently and correctly.
We guide you on editing page content, adding sections, updating text, making new pages and managing images. From the CMS Pages and Navigation dashboards, we help you organize content and update menus as your needs change. We also set up and maintain widgets, sidebars, sliders, and footers (bottom menus).
We also help with multimedia and technical aspects. If you use forms, videos, or embedded tools, we place them correctly without breaking the layout.
Frequently Asked Questions
Shul Works website information
It fully depends on the scope. Small updates usually take a few days. A full redesign or custom build takes 4 to 8 weeks. The timeline depends on how fast your team can provide content, approve designs, and give feedback. We’ll share a clear schedule at the start and update you weekly. If something comes up, like High Holidays or staff changes, we adjust. We’re flexible and focused on getting it right, not rushing. We will always stay in contact with you throughout.
Yes. If you’re on ShulCloud, we train your staff to add pages, edit text, and post events. For standalone sites, we use simple tools that don’t require coding. Most updates, like changing a service time or adding a photo, take just a few minutes once you know how. We also offer ongoing support if someone gets stuck or needs help with a bigger update. You’re not left on your own.
Your team provides most of the content such as text, photos, service times, staff bios, event details, etc. This keeps the site authentic to your voice. We help with editing, formatting, and organizing it so it’s clear and easy to read. If you’re not sure what to write or how to structure a page, we’ll guide you. We’ve done this for many shuls and can share examples that might help.
Yes, 100%. Every site we build works well on phones and tablets. Most people visit synagogue websites on mobile, especially for service times, directions, or event info. We make sure the layout is clean, buttons are easy to tap, text is readable, and pages load quickly. We test on real devices, not just desktop previews. If something doesn’t work well on a phone, we fix it.
We can work with it! If it’s built on ShulCloud, we’ll enhance it with new features or design updates. If it’s on another platform, we’ll assess what’s working and what’s not. Maybe it just needs better navigation or faster loading. Maybe it needs new sections. You don’t need to start over unless you want to! We’ll help you decide what makes the most sense for your team and your community.
Yes. We make sure your site connects with the tools you already use, like ShulCloud email, Mailchimp, or Google Workspace. That way, when someone signs up for a newsletter or event, it goes directly into your system. No manual entry and no duplicate work. If you’re using forms or buttons on the site, we set them up to feed into your database. We test everything before launch so it works the way your team needs.
